As of Friday, April 9, 2021, we are open after a brief closure when one of our staff members tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, the safety practices and protocols we have in place, including COVID safety training for all employees, prevented more of our staff from being affected. All staff members returning to work have tested negative and our facility was professionally cleaned and disinfected. Here are some of the practices we will continue and remain diligent with:

  • Employee temperature checks and health screenings required before entering the building

  • Employees required to wear masks and gloves at all times

  • Hourly cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of all surfaces and high touch areas hourly

  • Social distancing among employees required with extra PPE for kitchen employees when distancing is not always possible

  • Frequent and proper hand washing expired

Please remember we are still in a serious pandemic. Whether or not you choose to be vaccinated, please continue to wear your mask, social distance, wash your hands and limit large gatherings. Let’s do our part to keep one another safe! We’re in this together.

Today, March 31 we were notified that one of our staff members tested positive for Covid-19. To ensure the safety of our staff and guests, we will be closed for the rest of the week while our staff get tested and our facility is professionally cleaned and sanitized. This is the first occurrence of infection we’ve had since the pandemic began. We are grateful to our staff who have continued to work during this unprecedented time and have done their best to stay safe. Thank you also to all of our guests who have continued to support us and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this difficult time. We are aiming to reopen next week provided we have negative test results from our staff. We will keep you posted.

We appreciate and are grateful for the continued support you’ve shown us during these challenging times. Our heart goes out to those who have been impacted by Covid 19 directly, indirectly and financially. We are doing our best to remain open and providing quality, healthy comfort food meals. However, it is far from business as usual. Our staffs are reduced. We are not taking phone orders at this time. Orders will be taken exclusively online for curbside pick up or delivery. Guests awaiting their orders will remain outside of the restaurant. We are taking these safety precautions to do our part to help contain COVID 19.

As Michigan’s premiere vegan soul food restaurant, we have been following updates from health and government officials daily. Our top priority has always been the health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, staff members and community.

This was already required for our industry but we are going above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe; for example, increasing our safety precautions by having our staff wear masks and gloves at all times, checking staff temperatures and having them complete a health screening prior to every shift. All new employees are required to complete our Covid 19 Safety Training prior to beginning work with us.
